How to Freeze Purees

Purees can be frozen for up to 3 months. For thawing, keep them in the refrigerator overnight. It is better to store purees in form of cubes instead of storing one big batch in a container so that you can use as many cubes as needed.

Quick Recipe: Wash and peel the carrots. Cut into small chunks. Steam them till they turn tender. Puree using a food processor. You can adjust the consistency of the puree with water.
2. Plum Puree
Quick Recipe: Wash the plums. Bring some water to boil in a pan and add in the plums for 45 seconds. Remove from boiling water and immerse in ice-cold water immediately. Remove the skin from plums. Slice in half and remove the seed. Cut into slices and puree in a food processor. Use water to get the desired consistency.
3. Apple Sauce
Quick Recipe: You need one peeled apple. Core the apple and cut it into small pieces. Take 2-3 cups of water in a pan and let it come to a boil. Cook the apple chunks in water for 10 minutes or till they become tender. Do not overcook. Drain the water and puree the apples. Adjust the consistency with water.
4. Strawberry Puree
Quick Recipe: Wash and cut strawberries into small pieces. If the strawberries are ripe, you can process them now but if they are unripe then steam them for 3 minutes. After steaming wash the strawberries with cold water. Blend in a food processor to make a smooth puree.
5. Mango Puree
Quick Recipe: Wash and peel a ripe mango. Cut into small cubes. Blend the piece in a food processor. Add water to get the desired consistency.
